Be Strong in the Joy of the Lord
by Sam Sweg
A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken Proverbs15:13
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Have you ever looked at a person with a sad or anxious face? They have a dark cloud over them and their face is full of sadness and worry. You have to wonder if the discouragement and hopelessness in their face comes from a lack of looking to Jesus for their needs.
Without looking up to and Abiding in Jesus and His Word there will never be The Joy Love, Hope of God and Victory in their lives. The devil will distract you so you will take your eyes and heart off of Jesus and on him. As long as you look at what he is doing he will steal your Victory and Blessings!
1 Peter 5:7 Amplified Bible Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
As long as you carry your cares of this world in your heart you will be weighed down with them and sink away from the Power and Love of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you fix your eyes and heart on Jesus, you will be closer to His Everlasting, Love. Jesus wants your joy to be full!
Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Wherever Jesus went He would always tell the people to go or be in Peace. When your eyes are upon Him and not on the cares of this world His Joy, Love and Peace will overflow through you. Looking to Jesus will bring the Lord Jesus Christ’s Healing Joy, Peace and Victory to you.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
John 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
Acts 2:28 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.
1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
John 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
