In the Gospel of Matthew (15:8-9), Jesus quotes Isaiah the prophet, who spoke a word from the Lord concerning the people of Judah:

‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'”

There are so many doctrines and denominations out their.  They all teach different doctrines and many teach and rely on human philosophy and psychology.  Without the Word of God you will fail and walk this earth in blindness.  The reason many Christians do not see the great power of God is that they are not following Him or His true, written Word.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
(Colossians 2:8-10)

The Lord gave every Christian a instruction manual to live in His glory, love, power and victory. That manual is the Bible! Many know the Word of God and have it memorized. Knowing the Word with out stepping out in faith and relying on the Word your action is dead and will fail.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
(James 1:23-25)

This is the time to get back into the Word of God. Every day you see another denomination or a major church slip into demonic doctrines and perversions. When you live and rely on Him, He will never fail or forsake you.  His Word has withstood every assault for over 2000 years and the living Word of God is still alive and full of power for you to flow and live in.

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things which I say? “Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: “He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. “But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
(Luke 6:46-49)
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'”
(Matthew 15:8-9)
