Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.
(I Corinthians 3:6)

Many times we try to achieve victories in life with our own strength and resources.  When you do that you are blocking the very power and wisdom of God in your life.  It is human nature to feel like you can accomplish anything with your own intellect or strength. When a person starts a prayer life they soon develop an intimate spiritual relationship with God Almighty and the Lord Jesus Christ, which develops true trust in God.  “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).  Praying in the Spirit is a total trust and reliance in the power of God.

The Apostle Paul learned from Jesus when he was exhausted from fighting in his own strength he pleaded for help from Jesus.  And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake.  For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).  Praying in the Spirit will release the very miracle power of God into your life and the lives of all you touch.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
